Sven-Goran Eriksson has admitted he is unsure whether Leicester City can still reach the play-offs after they slumped to defeat against Norwich last night.
The 3-2 Walkers Stadium reverse was City's third setback in four games and leaves them seven points adrift of sixth place.
City were still in the game after Richie Wellens's header cancelled out Wes Hoolahan's opener. But, when Grant Holt and Aaron Wilbraham scored twice in a lamentable first 15 minutes of the second period for Eriksson's side, even a Paul Gallagher strike in added-time could not raise the spirits of the City fans.
Manager Eriksson said it would be difficult now to bridge that gap over the final 10 games, but urged his side not to throw away the season.
"It would be a shame if we throw the season away, play-off or no play-off, promotion or no promotion," he said.
"We have to stand up and do the last 10 games with honour and pride, for ourselves, the club and the fans. It is not good enough what we did in the second half.
"The play-offs? I don't know. It depends totally on us if we want to go on having a good season like we did until four games ago.
"If the top teams keep dropping points now I don't know. We are seven points behind, which is incredible when you think we have dropped 11 points from a possible 12. And we are still within seven points.
"I was worried at the start of the second half. I saw a team totally without energy, in the legs and in the mind. I don't know what it was or whether it was too much pressure. We have to come together and talk about that.
"We started the second half without energy and we have to change that or we won't win many games.
"If we play like we did at QPR and in the first half we will be okay, even if we have only one point from four games.
"But the second half was extremely disappointing. I have not seen the team play like that before.
"We have to find out why. We have to come together and start winning football games again. It is extremely important, but we can't afford to do what we did in the first 15 minutes of second half.
"It makes you even more frustrated to come in and see the other results with more or less all the top sides dropping points."
